Should my DH continue Cipro medication?

My husband was prescribed Cipro antibiotic for an ear infection he has been fighting. It was prescribed by a MD in the clinic at his work. He started the med last night, there after he started having really bad diarrhea and some vomitting.. he cannot keep anything down at all. He now has a fever of a 101. I told him it must be an allergic reation to the med, he should stop taking it and go see another doctor at an actual clinic. He has been fighting this ear infection for quite some time and this is the 2nd antibiotic that has been subsribed for him. Any thoughts? Suggestions? thanks
