Industrial piercing? Please help?

Hi well i got my industrial piercing in january and it doesnt hurt anymore and i have a feeling its healed but thing is that my parents dont know i have it. So for the fourth of july we might go out of town and i like to put my hair up how im i going to hide it? So my question is how do you know when its healed and if i take it off will it close? If it does close does it happen real fast? And last how can i just tell my parents? They both scare me and i rather not tell them but i feel like i should. Thanks:)
