I have a 1999 vw jetta amd need help with the remote?

i went to the gym with my friends and let one take my car to the mall he couldnt find the car so he kept spamming the unlock button so it would beep and i guess he broke the remote because when he.found the car it wasnt working and he tried using the key to unlock my car and the alarm went off luckly a guy had came to help he said it would turn off if u used the key in the trunk and it did ever since then the remote never worked so i went to the vw dealer and bought a new remote and they tried to reprogram it and couldnt so if anybody can help me txt me or call me email me i need some info 678-571-0868
